Privacy Policy

Who this covers
This policy applies to the My IDE iPad app, the My IDE iPhone app, My IDE Mac Companion, the VS Code / Cursor extension, the website myide.app, and My IDE Cloud (api.myide.app).
You can use the IDE over Coder, SSH, or a Mac on your local network without creating a My IDE Cloud account. Account features (off-LAN relay directory, Team) are optional.
What we collect
If you create or sign in to a Cloud account we store your email, a password hash (or a Sign in with Apple identifier), plan and Team membership, and Mac Companion device records (display name, hostname, app version, online/accepting state, optional public ports you publish).
Bug reports you submit from iPad or iPhone include a screenshot, a short note, and session metadata (connection kind, app/OS version). We do not upload your project files to My IDE Cloud.
The marketing site records first-party page events (path, locale, referrer, UTM) with a rotating daily IP hash. It does not use third-party advertising trackers.
What stays on your devices
Editor cache, encrypted file vault, SSH credentials, pairing PINs, and local settings live on your iPad, iPhone, or Mac (Keychain / Application Support). Your source code stays on the remote you connect to (Coder workspace, SSH host, or the Mac Projects folder).
If you attach photos or files to the in-app agent, they are sent to the AI provider you configured (for example Cursor on the host, or ChatGPT / OpenAI). That is not My IDE Cloud storage.
Local network and permissions
The apps use local-network discovery (Bonjour) to find a nearby Mac Companion or a Pad Link iPad. iOS asks for Local Network permission before that works. We do not sell location or network identifiers.
Mac Companion may use Screen Recording and Accessibility only when you enable Simulator or Mac window streaming.
How we use data
Account data runs sign-in, plan limits, Team invites, Mac presence, and optional encrypted relay when LAN/UPnP is unavailable. Bug reports are used to fix the product. Site analytics improve the public website.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Cloud account data for cross-app tracking or advertising.
Account deletion and export
You can delete your Cloud account from inside My IDE (Settings on iPad/iPhone), Mac Companion (Account tab), the VS Code / Cursor extension (Cloud account menu), or https://myide.app/account. Deletion is immediate: the account, linked Macs, and tokens are erased. Type your email to confirm. Team owners also dissolve the organization. Admin accounts cannot self-erase.
JSON export of the account record is available at https://myide.app/account (signed in). Uninstalling the app does not by itself delete the Cloud account.
Retention
Cloud account data is kept until you delete the account. Site analytics keep day-bucketed hashes for a limited operational window. Device-local vault and Keychain items remain until you clear app data or uninstall.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have access, correction, portability, and erasure rights (including LGPD in Brazil and CCPA/CPRA in California). Use in-app deletion, the account portal, or email hello@myide.app.
Children: the product is for developers and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country).
Changes
We will update this page when the collection practices change. The App Store listing points at https://myide.app/privacy (this page; language follows your browser).
